Union Cab offers four-passenger sedans and six-passenger mini-vans. While the cooperative cannot guarantee the availability of mini-vans, it does not charge extra. Regardless of the number of passengers, Union Cab charges only one meter rate.

Booking taxi service seems a mystery to some. On television, people only flag cabs and it happens instantaneously. In most of the country, cabs operate by calling an office and have the driver dispatched to your location. It is usually a 15-20 minute wait (and it usually takes 15-20 minutes to flag a cab in NYC, too). The cabs stay constantly in motion, hopefully distributed throughout the city in a manner that allows them to service calls quickly. Sometimes, such as when the University lets out, the rush of business pulls all of the vehicles towards one side of town (such as the northside near the airport), this can cause longer wait. During inclement weather, the wait may also increase.
